His face is covered in sweat as he stands over the restroom sink scrubbing his hands until the skin turned red, red like the blood that was being washed away. Not his but an innocent man’s blood. He swore that he would never become what he is now. It was his wish to his dying father as he was passing away on his hospital bed. The last thing that his father ever heard. Now he scrambles about in the bathroom, trying to clean himself of not just the blood stains but the crimes that he has committed.
Sweat pours from his forehead and drips from the tip of nis nose. The blood just wont go away, no matter how hard he scrubs at his hands. The restroom door is locked and the windows are sealed and covered. No one can see the mess that he has made. All of the blood that has stained the sink and floor. The vomit on the toilet bowl and the sweat that covers his distressed and frightened mug. He was a good man once, that’s what he keeps himself. At least everyone else knows him as that still. To him, he is a corrupted soul on the edge of insanity, just a leap away from falling into the fiery pits of hell.
Things shouldve never got this bad. It all started out with him just taking a little money under the table, then he began selling bags of powder to kids on the street. Innocent men were either killed or locked away for the rest of their lives. Now, the evil has began to plague his mind and darken his heart. The blood just wont go away… and then, BANG!
The restroom door is busted open. In comes his close friend and partner, alert and concerned, He sees nothing but his friend standing over a clean bathroom sink. There is no blood, just another game that his mind plays on him, the haunting images that punishes him for all of the evil that he has done. After encouraging words from his partner, he seems to have himself together and ready to leave the restroom, taking the stage to receive the Medal of Valor. They clap for him as if he deserves it. He smiles as if he deserves it.
New York City’s top cop, a crooked cop and corrupt soul, living a pathetic illusive life.
