I had a long discussion with a friend about my free-writing entries where i tell stories of corrupt or failed relationships. I was told that i write these stories as if I lived through them, and that I should try to compile them and present the work in the form of a book. It sounded like a good idea, but I have so many unfinished projects that needs my attention more. so then, being as though these pieces of work had already been posted, I compiled the links of the stories and present to you, the “BAD ROMANCE” collection. Do enjoy.

It was the best sex she and i ever had, she said so herself, and i agreed. It was different than the same old boring sex that we’d have once a month for two to five minutes. She lit a cigarette and sat up against the bed’s headboard, completely satisfied with our long, rough session. I remained laying in bed, collecting my thoughts and coming back down to reality. I slowly began to realize that we were not in a cheap motel room, but our townhouse master bedroom instead. There was no flashing red light, as i thought when we were in the middle of having sex, but darkness, and light from the outside street lamps that pierced through the window blind openings. I turned over on my side and realized i was having sex with my wife, then i thought to myself, “Maybe if i continued to imagine my wife as my mistress, we’d have a much better sex life”.

He went back.
No matter how violent, abusive and toxic their relationship had become, he’d always come back to her.
It would always begin and end the same as it did before, and Chris knew that, contemplating hanging up as the phone rung. Just as he came close to it, she picked up.
Her voice had given him a regretful but comforting feeling. He knew that calling her would only open old wounds and resurrect dead feelings, but in the back of his mind is where she always laid waiting. Deep within his heart was a soft spot that had always been reserved for her and her only.
He responded to her Hello by speaking her name in a soft hurtful tone of voice. She instantly knew that it was him. Though the number was different and times had changed, his voice was always one that she would never forget. She had heard so much pain and love from that voice.
A silence had come in between their gap of greeting. Chris had promised himself that this would never happen again. Nadia had done the same, but her heart had always craved him, and her mind would often obsess over him.
The conversation went exactly as it occured five years ago. First catching up on things as if they were nothing more than old friends. They both didn’t dare speak on current relationships or marital status, though the subject sat on the edge of their lips, waiting to be asked.
It was as if everything said and done in the past had just dissapeared from their history, but they both had never forgave and forgot. The abuse, and unfaithfulness, the history that hovered over them like dark clouds that could erupt with acid rain at any moment, at any time one of them decides to reflect upon a dark period in their past. But they’ve always kept it clean and played cool in their first conversation since splitting apart. It always played out the same. Nothing changed but their age. Continue Reading
