Character ID: PINK
Her true face is hidden behind layers of cosmetic powders, as if she were a Broadway stage performer. Her pretty brown eyes are concealed by baby blue contact lenses. The red silk dress fits her figure as if the pattern and strands were woven on her body. She stands in front of a tall mirror to look at the result from hours of preparation. She looks at her reflection and recognizes it as her perfect appearance. A carbon copy of a celebrity photo from the twentieth page of Style magazine.
It is hard for Camila to look at a photo of herself without makeup and not cringe or become disgusted of her natural appearance. In fact, there are very few photos, as she has made it her mission to destroy them all. If any are to be snapped and posted online, it would first have to be looked over dozens of times and approved by her.
If her stunning good looks didn’t speak for her then her car will. A new luxury vehicle always gives the impression that one is successful in what they do. If you’d ask her, she’d blow it off like it was nothing, probably complain about wanting something more luxurious and show you all of its cool features. She is the spoiled princess that you’d hate in movies. Guys don’t attempt to get her number or try their chances of getting her in bed, she looks out of a normal joe’s league.
The entourage comes easy for her, as she is always surrounded by women who think less of themselves and highly of her. Nothing makes her feel more better about herself than to be complimented and admired by women with low self-esteem. It makes her feel like a leader… or goddess more suo.
Hidden beneath is a scorned creature, scared to be seen by the x-ray eye of those that become close to her. Dependant on the illustrious illusion that she has created and took refuge for most of her adult life. The vehicle serves as a prop to present a false image of success and high rank which she is not on. One would never know that the vehicle was paid for out of mommy and daddy’s pockets. It is what she begged them for.
If you’d ask her friends, they’d say that Cam’ is living in a nice house somewhere in the suburbs, though they have never been invited. She actually shares a one-bedroom apartment with her ex boyfriend, a man that she has unfortunately had a history with, as much as she would like to forget it, he is the father to her three unborn children. One who is being taken care of by her parents and the other two were miscarried. Camila would never tell you that.
Hidden somewhere in her mind is a past so dark and twisted that she practices forgetting each day. Sexually molested by her father, raped as a teenager, heartbroken by many, loved by none. She is a lonely girl sitting in the middle of her bed, waiting to be loved by a man… any man. She is weak, vulnerable, open and shameful. The old bruises on her inner thighs tell twisted stories.
What really lies beneath the layers of paste and makeup powder is a disgusting and helpless little girl, abused by the many men that have come and gone in her past life. She hides her scars, pain and history in a music box that is buried deep in her heart. What you see before you is her hero. The woman from the magazine, the celebrity from the television screen, the perfect ten in the dance club.
Ignore her beautiful smile and look into her dark distressed eyes. If you look closely, there you will find the door that leads to her pathetic illusive life.
